Utah Trip With the Kids

We loaded up the car and left about 5:30 am for Utah! It was my mom, Kaiya, me and the boys. Cirdan and Ella were flying to California that same day in the afternoon. The drive went extremely well. No real melt downs and everyone got along great! We stopped a few times for bathroom breaks and to let the boys run around. We ended up getting to Salt Lake around 9pm and checked into our hotel.
The reason for the trip was to take Kaylee some baby stuff. Cirdan put the box on the car and we loaded it up with a stroller, car seat, swings, etc. Since Cirdan and Ella were going to Cali I decided the rest of us needed to get away for some fun also! It worked out perfectly.

On Tuesday morning we woke up and went to Temple Square. Since Jett had pink eye we were limited on what we could do. I didn't want to take him to the Children's Museum that I had planned with his sickness so we just walked around.
Kaiya was anxiously waiting to see Rusty and Kaylee. She kept asking if she could go hang out with Rusty but he was in school....
We walked over to the mall across the street. I never realized how big it was! I love LOVE outdoor malls. We finally got some food and sat down to eat for a bit.
I had to bribe her for a smile each time
He loved running along the flowers
Poor eyes
Can you tell she is a 'tween'?? She was not into it.
Conference Center
We then went to the grocery store and got some dinner to take over to Rusty and Kaylee's house. They have a fun park out behind their apartment and the boys LOVED playing there each night. There was a picnic bench were we could sit and visit and eat dinner.

Later that night Rusty pulled out some of his science books to try to teach Kaiya a thing or 2.

Wednesday we woke up and went to a couple of church stores. Bought some cute things and let the boys roam around a bit. We were all hungry so we went to a mexican food place that's popular in Utah that we don't have in Washington (can't remember the name...something like a Cafe Rio). Then I dropped off my mom at the genealogy library at temple square and the kids and I went back to the hotel to chill and relax. Shortly after Kaylee called to say she was off work and I went and picked up my mom. We headed over to K & R's for some BBQ.
Once again the boys loved playing on the toys
On her phone
Looking at the ants - "they are a family!" yelled Jett every 5 seconds
After dinner R & K took us around the University of Utah. I had never seen the college before and I was impressed.
We drove up to the U. I never knew how easy it was to get to. Driving thru a neighborhood and walked down this little paved hill and boom - you are there!
We got there right at sunset. Perfect timing!

The view was amazing
That night Kaiya and my mom had a pretty serious pillow fight. I was the one yelling at them to stop and go to bed!!!
