What Happens In Vegas…..

We left Calabasas and headed to Vegas. Actually Henderson Nevada but it seems easier to just say Vegas. It takes approximately 4 1/2 hours. Not bad.

Nice hotel. We will defiantly stay in Calabasas again.
The drive pretty much looked like this the whole way...
As soon as we reached Nevada we knew we were in a whole new territory
We checked in to our hotel. There was a billion dance families there at the same time trying to also check in. I had called a couple times before we got there to make sure we had 2 rooms connecting. A lot of people had to hang out in the lobby to wait for their room to be ready but our rooms were ready and waiting (after the big check in line). Cirdan saw Shawn Green checking in the same time we did, he pulled his car up right next to us.  If you're a baseball fan, you know the name.  He had a long career playing mainly with the Dodgers.  He had daughters that were competing at the competition.  After we got all of our luggage to our room we decided to explore the pool. The kids instantly wanted to swim….and I'm not going to lie…so did I.
Sand at the pool. AMAZING! It was perfect for the little kids!
It was overcast outside and it was supposed to be lightning but fortunately the lightening missed us so we were able to play at the pool until it closed.  Don't be fooled by the overcast, it was upwards of 100 degrees.
Ella playing with Kaiya's friends
That night Cirdan and I met some of our dance parent friends at the hotel casino. I have never gambled and wanted to at least try a couple slot machines. It's crazy to me how fast you can lose money. It was even crazier to see some people sit there for hours and hours. I would walk thru the hotel casino to get to breakfast in the morning and people were there gambling away. It really is the city that never sleeps.

The next morning I took a walk around the Resort with Ella. It was beautiful. The weather was perfect. It was wonderful

Dad's take selfless too
Cirdan and I went out again that night (thank you Taryn). We got a bite to eat across the street. Some of the dance couples were over there eating and thought they would be funny and send over a plate of edamame with the waitress to our table. We already had a plate of edamame so Cirdan decided he would send the already eaten plate back to them. They then sent over some crayons or something. Good times.
We headed back to the hotel and got some frozen yogurt

The food court in the resort. I swear we ate at Panda Express every single day. At least once.

We had a lot of overcast weather. On this morning it was rainy. No bueno
Awards! Kaiya's dance B.O.B. receive 1st overall! VERY exciting.
After competition we met up with Ella's Kindergarten (now 1st grade) teacher. She happened to be there for a teacher conference at the same time. I think it's hilarious these teacher conferences are held in Vegas. Ha ha
We parked and walked to meet up with Ms. Borgmann. She showed us around to a couple of the hotels and then we walked the strip for a bit. LOTS of people. It was kind of crazy with all the kids and Kaiya's back was killing her. I am glad that we did actually go to the strip at least once while we were there. Ella loved seeing her teacher that she was missing.
I can't remember what hotel this was in but those are flowers covering everything. I absolutely love flowers so this was perfect for me!
So many colors and things going on all around you
I think this was at the Bellagio? Those hotel are like their own little worlds.
Ella and Ms. Borgmann
Jett or Cannon (can't remember which one) did not like this fire show.
We walked down to see the water show but for some reason it wasn't happening so I had Cirdan walk back to our car to come pick us up.
More random mixed up pictures.
It was so nice to have Taryn with us. While I was at the dance competition she would go do something with the kids. Between her and Cirdan the kids seemed to also be doing fun things and not have to just hang out watching dancing or sitting in the hotel room. It worked perfectly!
