Kaiya was invited to be a part of a performance at Western Washington University. One of her dance teachers every year puts on a program for kids from local schools to come watch as a field trip. Jovon (the teacher) asked her Thing 1 & 2 (he choreographs it) to be a part of the show. The girls were thrilled. Jovon is a tap star and the kids have learned so much since he has been at the studio.
We drove up the night before. Kaiya usually gets done around 10:30 on Thursday nights so it made for a long night. By the time we got to the hotel it was around 1 in the morning. We had to wake up early in the morning for the show so we were glad we drove there the night before. *my mom stayed home with Ella, Jett and Cannon.
Kaiya says - "it was fun." She has so many words. TWEEN!
Anyways, after the performance the kids all sat down with the band that was there playing music to ask questions. The band talked to them about music being similar to dance and the different types of music you can do while improving. Part of the show was the band playing while Jovon tap improved.
**On the way home we stopped in Bellevue to meet with a talent agency for Kaiya (one that has been recommend). They loved her and told her they wanted to work with her on the spot! They don't usually do that. We were so pleased! She had to memorize a monologue that was at least a minute long and smashed it! The lady was really impressed. Looks like more fun things will be happening in the next year! Kaiya is an extremely hard worker and it has been a joy to see her grow into the person she is becoming.
