Emma's 3rd Birthday Party

Amy threw Emma a very enjoyable princess party! Ariel, Belle, Tangled princess and the Fairy Godmother were all in attendance. A lot of other little princesses and princes attended and it was fun for all!

The party was held at the lake. Kaiya and Ella spent some time down at the lake throwing rocks and trying to get the ducks to come over to them.

Cannon's 1st Bath

His 2nd bath I wrapped him in his towel and then he pooped and peed in it (and on the kitchen floor). I was trying to stop Jett from getting into it but I was holding the baby so I asked Kaiya to get him. She was gagging pretty bad. It was funny/nasty. Thanks Cannon! Ha ha

Canon's Stats

Birth weight - 7 pnds 14 oz  and he measured 19" (Thursday, July 12th)

The next Tuesday (July 17th) at his doctor appointment he weighed 7 pnds 11 oz and was 21". I think he was really longer when he was born because I doubt he grew 2 inches in a few days.

The next Tuesday (July 24th) at his doctor appointment he weight 8 pnds 8 oz and was 21 3/8"

He is growing so fast!

National Dance Competition in Seaside, Oregon

Kaiya's dance national competition took place the week that I was due. I knew that we couldn't go so I asked her dad to take her. He was happy to. The National completion took place in Seaside, Oregon. Not having to take a plane made it a lot cheaper than Disneyland last year. I was sad that I wasn't there with her but I was receiving messages all week about how everyone was doing. Here are some pictures from the week that other people took.

This is Kaiya as part of the 'elite' team. She is in the back in the blue. It was a lot of practice and took a lot of time out of the week. If she is able to get invited to do it again, she probably wont. She didn't really enjoy it.

Everyone had a ton of fun. This is a big group of them on the beach. They had bonfires and roasted marshmallows.

The last night there they all went bowling. I guess they had the whole place to themselves.

Everyone had such a great time that they asked to go there next year. I heard that it's between Lake Tahoe and Seaside. Lake Tahoe would be a lot more expensive but a lot warmer!

She did really well!!!! She competed with around 85 other kids and got 10th overall. There was only one other kid in her age group from the dance studio that placed 6th overall. The judges award was also special...it's hard to get those!

Kaiya ended the year with a bang! She is ready and excited to learn her next years dances!

Cannon and Mommy Update

We took Cannon in last Monday (6th) to get circumcised. :( He hated the whole thing and cried for about 30 minutes after the procedure. It broke my heart! They weighed him and he was 10 pounds! He  went from 8 lbs 8 oz to 10 lbs in 13 days. He is growing so fast! He doesn't really fit into newborn clothes anymore. I have been trying to take pictures of him in all his cute outfits before he outgrows them! :)
Last weekend Kaiya was in a fashion show for Sears at one of the malls around here (will be doing a blog post about it). As soon as we got home I felt sick. I told Cirdan that it felt like I had a fever but I don't know if he believed me (yes I believed her, geez). We ran a couple errands and by the time we got home I laid on the couch and really started to feel it. We go through thermometers around this house so I was glad they sent us home with one with Cannon. I took my temp and it was 100.6. I knew I wasn't imagining things! The fever held on until the next day. I called the doctor Saturday night and she said to just take Tylenol and call in 24 hours if the fever was still there. On Sunday, 24 hours later, my fever reached 102. I knew I had a breast infection and just needed some antibiotics to help with my fever. I called the doctor again hoping they could prescribe some over the phone but they made me go into Urgent Care. We barely made it...with only 30 minutes until it closed. The doctor confirmed that I had a breast infection. I started on the medicine as soon as I got them...which was quite an ordeal. Long story short, doc didn't send the prescription.   Cirdan had to find a pharmacy that was open on Sunday night, I had to call the ob and so on....
My fever went away some time Monday mid morning. I forgot how horrible fevers are. The only good thing was I had chills pretty much all weekend during the hottest weekend we have had in 2 years. While everyone was roasting hot, I was under layers of blankets still cold.

Here are some pictures of the June dance performance. It was a busy night for Kaiya. I think she had 13 costume changes? Along with all her production dances she was also in some of the Xtreme showcase ones - I think 5? Very busy girl.
