The Kids Update

Kaiya - still busy in dance. Just started 8th grade and even though she probably wouldn't admit it, I think she likes it. She has a lot of friends at school and she likes most of her teachers (except 1). The activities leader already asked her to dance for the first pep assembly during school. She is already planning and choreographing her dance she will be doing for her school talent show. In JUNE NEXT YEAR!!! ha ha. She makes me laugh. Kaiya has been home more which has been nice. Jett loves hanging out with her. She has her 1st big babysitting job this Friday night. Four kids from 4:30 until 10pm! During the summer I used her a lot to watch the kids so I could run to the store etc. She went to her first Kentwood H.S. football game last Friday and LOVED it!! Even though she is in Middle School a lot of her school friends were there. Cirdan and I sat about 10 rows up from her and kept an eye on her. She wanted us to just drop her off because, "it's not even ghetto there." HA yeah right. We picked up one of her school friends and took her with. I am glad she is finally hanging out with other kids besides her dance 'family'.

Ella - she is super excited that she can now eat gluten. Ha ha. I got her retested and she still can't have dairy she is now able to have some wheat and corn products. I went out and bought her a box of Life cereal. She missed it so much!! Ella is also really busy with dance. She moved up a level which means more hours at the studio. Ella loves school. She misses Ms. Borgmann a ton but she likes her new teacher. Her uncle Nate even had her teacher when he was in elementary school. She has made new friends this year and always asks for play dates. She has fun playing with the twins that live next door. I started reading Amelia Bedelia books with her. She fought me all summer to not read but I think I finally have her convinced that reading is fun. We read every night together. It has been really fun. Ella loves her brothers very much and is always trying to be a little mom to them. Ella is really into fashion and accessories. She loves scarfs and necklaces. She loves cute clothes and planning her outfits. I love this about Ella!!! :)

Jett - Jett rocked his soccer game last Saturday and he is finally coming out of his shell!! I really think hanging out with Kaiya all summer and Kaiya's friends has really helped. He also took a hip hop class  and at first he was super duper shy but by the end of the summer he really loved it and went all out! Jett had his first day of preschool this week and said he met a friend (even though he didn't remember their name). He likes his new preschool. He is a really good big brother and looks out for Cannon. He also laughs at Cannon's funny jokes. They get a long so well. They fight a lot but they also love on each other and give each other big hugs (while choking one another). Jett is still small and petite but he is the most adorable little boy ever!!! (tied with Cannon)  He LOVES toys and everything to do with toys. If I let him he would spend hours walking up and down the toy aisle at the store. I don't take him to the store with me very much for that same reason. He also loves McDonald's just for the toys. He begs for a happy meal but really doesn't want the food. Just the surprise inside. He has started to play video games. I don't know how I feel about it but it does give me some quiet time during the day :). He is actually REALLY good and can beat most people at Mario Cart. It's crazy to watch.

Cannon - he is my crazy boy. I never know what I am going to get with him. I am now finally starting to trust him enough to take him out in public ha ha. He either does really well or not at all. I am starting to realize that he is a really good boy but if he eats an ounce of sugar he turns into crazy boy. We have been staying away from candy and Cannon. Bad mix. He likes his class at church finally. I start talking about it on Saturday and he always says, "I cry at my class". But he doesn't anymore. I have to remind him that he loves his class and he doesn't cry.  A couple weeks ago I peeked in on him and he had taken off his tie and shirt and was wearing his slacks and his wife beater undershirt. It was kind of funny. I went to pick him up on Sunday and he started dragging a boy by the collar of the shirt towards me. I rushed over and told him to stop. He said, "there is room in my car, we have a seat in the car". He wanted to bring his new friend home. He loves to watch TV and has his favorite shows that changes every few weeks. He is finally starting to get into books and loves to read Words Are Not For Hurting. He even tries to read it to Cirdan and I and he gets most of the pages correct. It is so cute. He tried soccer but it didn't work out...maybe in the spring. This week he started preschool. First day didn't go so well but hoping tomorrow (2nd day) will be better. We have been talking about not laying under the table and sitting on our chairs.
