Pre game pictures. Getting pumped and ready to go!
Cirdan was pretty excited.
Dancing in the living room.
Had to take pictures in front of the beach
We asked the people who were staying below us in the condo to take our picture. None of us noticed that one of the girls grabbed their Charger flag and ran to stand behind us. When we looked at the picture a little while later we all had a good laugh.
At least they took a good one without a gross Charger flag :)
On the way to the game….
Lots of tailgaters at the stadium. Fun to see. There were both a lot of Charger fans (of course) and a lot of Seahawks fans.
It was SO hot. I am talking a little hot. It was like we were standing next to the sun hot. We were sweating so much. Literally dripping with sweat pretty much the whole time. Kim and Derek found some shade. They were so desperate they were standing under a Charger tent.
Our car. Hanging out for a bit and then started to head into the stadium.
Once we got in I had a little hope that it wouldn't be as hot. I was wrong. Very wrong. We only sat 3 rows up from the field and it was like being in a hot yoga studio for a few hours. San Diego's hottest day they have had in many years. Lucky us!! Not.
They had guys fly in with parachutes right before the game.
Hawks were representing!
Since we sat down by the field we had to go down into these tunnels that led back up to our seats. It was muggy and hot. It was really crazy how many Seahawks fans were down there. It almost felt like a home game.
Derek only lasted about 15 minutes before he went and found a bar under the shade to stand and watch the game. Big Bummer! He couldn't take the heat.
Water Misters
This is how they kept the players cooled off. You would think with the amount of money they have they would have a better system than to have 2 guys stand there and hold 'shade makers'.
Marshawn riding the bike. Cray
Fans trying to keep cool. We were able to get a couple of ice cups. Would put it on our face and all over. Then they ran out of water about the beginning of the 4th quarter. Eek
We took a break from the sun. Found Derek and cooled off for a bit. There were people throwing up left and right and people being taken out on stretchers.
It took a while to get out of the stadium. We took the top off the car and mingled with some of the people. These guys were nuts. They were standing at their truck making food and eating it. Most of them were just looking at us but this guy was talking and acting crazy. Kim asked for a piece of ice and the guy gave her a spicy cheeto. Cirdan was glad we made it out alive…he thought the guys were grilling us. Ha ha
97 degrees at 5:13!
Miss America wave
We stopped at the gas lamp district and had dinner at a nice italian place.
It was a fun day! Even though the Seahawks lost we had a good time. Lots of memories made! Good friends….good times.
