Ella is a big helper. She loves to help give Jett his bath. She will gather his bath, towels and wash cloths for me and bring them to the kitchen where he gets his bath.

Temptations
Cirdan and I were called to be the Valiant 11 teachers this year. We have enjoyed working together and teaching the kids in our class. The lessons are harder than they were last year since we have an older class. The harder lessons have been good for me. It gives me a chance to refresh on everything I have forgotten over the years. Good thing for my 100% attendance at seminary all my years...and all the many Sundays at church, I retained pretty much nada.
I wasn't able to go to church yesterday since Kaiya was sick. The first part of the lesson was to have the kids write down problems they face today...temptations they are faced with. While cleaning out the papers Cirdan brought home this morning I read what the kids had written down. I was shocked/humored at their responses...keep in mind these are 11 year olds.
1. skip school
2. curse
3. do drugs
4. shop lift
5. break windows
6. hitting
7. talk back to your mom and dad
Okay so all those are pretty normal...except # 5. Where did that come from?? ha ha
Another one writes...
1. steal
2. kick people
I thought that would be the only boy in the class to write that one because of the #2 answer but it was a girl. So I guess I will stay away from her or she might kick me. hmmmm
This last one was the shocker!!
1. fight
2. curse
3. smoke
4. steal
5. vandalism
6. skip school
7. murder
8. robbery
9. breaking and entering
10. drink
Okay...Say what?!?!??! Murder??? Breaking and entering?? I was laughing and called Cirdan to see if he had read over these. I sure hope that this 11 year old girl that was visiting her grandparents for the weekend isn't tempted to commit murder!!
Oh, I love kids...

Starpower Competition
Kaiya had her 1st real competition. It was lots of fun! Starpower Competition ranks the dances with stars. 5 stars is best. Out of the 3 dances this is how they ranked...
I like to fuss - 4
Kiss - 4 1/2
Whip my hair - 4
Kaiya and Tatum also won an award and I think it was called the Power Pak award? In each age level the judges invite 4 kids to receive this award. They saw something in the girls that said...STAR!! It's an invitation to their tour where they will get to study with fabulous choreographers. There are 2 locations to choose from...one in Orlando and the other in Ocean City, Maryland. This year Kaiya probably will not be going because we will be be at Disneyland for her National Competition in July for 7 days. We are so excited for her to be invited!
The competitions are a blast. It is quite the workout for the moms though! Having Jett is especially hard for me because I have to make sure he is fed and content. I have to dress Kaiya in her costumes and do her hair appropriately for all 3 dances (3 different hair do's). I run out to the audience to watch her perform and rush back to the dressing room to get her ready for the next dance. It makes for a long day...but a fun one.
My dad, mom and Stacey made it in time for Kaiya's last dance which was her duo.
