Jett's 1st day of Kindergarten

They did something different this year for kids going into Kindergarten. The first few days of school the kids and parents met with teachers one on one. The teachers were able to ask questions and meet the kids before school started. Jett had his meeting and then we went out on a 'date' to Arby's (his choice).

The next day was Jett's official first day of school.  I seriously can't believe he is old enough for Kindergarten! He was really excited to go to Ella's school.

His friend Paxton parks at our house and walks to school with the kids.

Unfortunately they aren't in the same class but they still see each other at recess.

He was a little nervous. Jett is our little anxiety kid. He is always worried or nervous about something.

They are going to watch out for him. He's lucky to have older kids to keep their eyes open for him!

Jonas/Lovato Concert

This dad gets Dad of the Year award. The girls wanted to go to the Nick Jonas - Demi Lovato concert really bad. I mentioned it to Cirdan (as did they) a few times and he actually went online and bought them tickets to go. The girls were super excited! Kaiya is in LOVE with Nick. She listens to his songs non stop.

When Nick came out on stage Kaiya started crying. Tears running down her face. Those are the moments that make everything worth it. All the money and time that is spent to see them appreciate it is the best feeling. She even tells me now (a couple weeks later) that every time she thinks about the concert she gets really happy and it puts a huge smile on her face.

Zoo

We had one last hoorah before school started. Meema came with us to the zoo, which was nice of her. Kaiya and Jett went off on their separate way for a while. I love that Kaiya is old enough to take a kid and go do their own thing. Jett and her are also close which is fun to watch. The kids had to get their face painted (of course) and Kaiya got henna.

We never saw a show before but my mom wanted to. So glad we did!! That was the kids favorite part.

1st day of School

The first day of school went great for the girls! Ella was really excited to get a new teacher. Last year was rough at the end but she has high hopes for this next year! She was bummed that none of her friends are in her class but I told her this is a perfect time to meet new friends! Can't believe she is in 3rd grade already. Ms. Spunky pants is growing up too fast!

Now this is just crazy to me. I have a high schooler. A HIGH SCHOOLER!!!!!!!! How did this happen? She was really really excited. Nervous to get lost but other than that she was a cool cat. I wish I had her nerves. Driving her to school was emotional for me....

Kaiya likes her classes. She is in Marketing and there are only 2 Freshmen in the class. Her and another girl. She also has cooking (which I am looking forward to). I asked her what I should write about her 1st day and she said, "it was boring." She also can't wait until summer. :) 

The Kindergartners start next Wednesday so Jett hasn't had his 1st day yet. That will be another emotional day! He is really excited.

Wow

Time is really flying by and I am missing out on some good posting! Goal - start today and go backwards and hopefully catch up. The kids are growing up so fast and life is getting busier and busier. It's a fun life though! Lots of good memories being made. :)
