The Circus
We took Ella and Jett to the Circus in October. They had a lot of fun and enjoyed seeing all the different acts. They especially loved the animals. I was surprised how long it lasted and after a little while the kids got antsy. Cirdan took Jett out into the hall and then we decided to leave early since Jett didn't want to go back in. As soon as he realized we were leaving he started became very sad and got really upset! He just didn't know what he wanted. It was fun though and I am sure we will do it again….maybe in a couple years.

Summer Jam
Some of the kids at the dance studio were picked to be able to dance on one of the stages at Summer Jam last summer. At first I wasn't going to let Kaiya go….its not the best environment for an 11 year old to be in. It took a couple weeks for me to decided that since her dad was going and promised that she would be right with him the whole time and he would keep a close eye on her I would let her go. The plan was for her to leave as soon as they were off the stage (and before the concerts started). It was quite the experience for her and the kids. For me it was an experience that made me have to talk to Kaiya about drugs. EEK!!!! I was glad to have an opportunity to talk to her about it but it scares the heck out of me! She was very opened and told me that she didn't like how she felt there. Which made me relieved! I don't want my kids super sheltered. I want them to be aware but also be able to come and talk to me about everything and anything. I hope that Kaiya will be able to be strong enough in the future to not feel the need to participate in things she shouldn't.

Sickies Everywhere!
I need to germ bomb my house!!!!
These past 2 months has been nothing but sickness. Sickness. Sickness!! Jett started to get a cough and runny nose right before we went to Arizona. While we were at Arizona it just got worse. Cannon also started to cough and got a runny nose. When we got back Cirdan, Ella and I started to feel horrible. Ella, Cannon and Cirdan eventually started feeling better (a few weeks later) but my cough was getting worse. I finally went to the doctor and he said I had bronchitis. I got some antibiotic and started feeling better about 3 days later.
Jett and Cannon both had doctors appointments when we got home from Arizona (3 year and 15 month) and the doctor said they didn't have bronchitis and just said they should get better. We waited a couple weeks and Jett still wasn't doing well. Cirdan took him back to the doctor who prescribed him some antibiotics but said she really didn't want him to take it unless we felt he really needed it.
The week before Thanksgiving Jett got a stomach bug. He threw up once and had really horribly bad diarrhea. He had a temp of around 100 that lasted a little longer than a week. We finally decided to give him the antibiotic and about 4 days later his temperature was gone. The Tuesday before Thanksgiving Kaiya said she didn't feel well and she wanted to stay home from school. I thought it was just because Kaylee and Rusty was in town and didn't really believe her. I finally took her temperature and it was 101. She still wanted to go to dance though. Imagine that! I even had to call the owner of the dance studio to have her tell Kaiya to stay home…no one else wanted to get sick!! Her fever stuck around for a while and after having a temperature of 100 on Sunday morning it finally started going down and didn't come back.
Cannon started to throw up on Wednesday. He threw up quite a few times and also had diarrhea. We had to change our sheets a few times since it seemed to be in the middle of the night where it was most common. On Thursday at Thanksgiving we sat down to eat. I had given him some green beans to snack on right before we sat down. As soon as we sat it all came back up. Poor little guy.
Ella wasn't being herself on Thanksgiving and by around 5:00 it was apparent that she also had a fever. Cirdan took her home with the boys to get her some Tylenol and put her to bed. She was bummed she couldn't stay to play games! She missed school on Monday but Tuesday she went to school. She had been feeling better. When she came home Tuesday she had a temp of 100. I felt horrible that I let her go! She hadn't had a fever on Monday all afternoon/evening and seemed to be doing great.
This past Monday I woke up feeling horrible! I ended up getting cold and having a fever on Monday and Wednesday. That didn't stop me from going to the Seahawks game though! When mom is sick though…who takes care of everything??! I am lucky to have Cirdan do all that he could though to help out.
Ava was here and I did whatever I could to not have her get sick….ie the girls weren't able to sleep in the same room. It was a bummer!
I am hoping all this sickness is gone by Christmas so we can relax and enjoy!
