Thanksgiving - And My Birthday

Oh…are they hugging? How cute!

Guess not. Kids!

We went to my mom's house for Thanksgiving. It was decided to have dinner earlier this year (2:00) so that we could hang out and play games after. My birthday also landed on Thanksgiving this year. It always makes things more interesting when my birthday and Thanksgiving share a day. I woke up and started finishing up the cooking I had left. I had stayed up late the night before to finish a cheesecake and just had green beans to cook and help Cirdan with the stuffing. The kids had balloons for me and cards when I came downstairs.
Thanksgiving dinner was yummy. We had a few sicknesses that happened (blog to follow) but overall it was a nice evening. Ava came into town the Tuesday so she was there. Kaylee and Rusty also came into town. Amy's parents were also there celebrating with us (Amy had her baby a couple weeks ago). My parents exchange student who moved out about a month ago also wanted to come celebrate with us. Gram was there and the missionaries too.
Since I was sick last year and threw up everything that I ate on Thanksgiving I haven't really ate any mashed potatoes or turkey since then. It still wasn't as good as I had remembered but maybe one of these years my tummy will like that food again like it once did.

Kaylee and I had a cheesecake contest. The vote came down to Nathan who ended up voting for mine….since I bullied him to vote for me since it was my birthday. I tasted Kaylee's though and hers was amazing! I made a regular one but also made homemade strawberry syrup and whip cream. Kaylee made a pumpkin with pecans.
Kaiya wasn't feeling well.

At least I got 1 smile out of her

Ella also with a fever

Cirdan ended up taking Ella and the boys home early and I stayed and played games for a bit with the family. They sang happy birthday to me while we were playing games. It really just felt like any other day!

Broken Toe

My sweet, cute, innocent 1 year old little boy broke my toe. What a buster!! I was standing in our front room, minding my own business. I was on the phone with Cirdan and also putting a picture in a frame. All of a sudden the lamp post came crushing down on my foot. I yelled as a horrible pain shot up my foot from my toes. And there he was…that cute blue eyed boy of mine….looking at me.
Cirdan wanted to come home early but I knew that if I went to the doctor there is nothing they could do with a broken toe so I told him to stay at work and I sulked at home.
The next morning I did however go the doctor and she taped it up. I was glad I went because the tape made it feel a ton better! I was concerned because we were going to Arizona that next week and I needed to wear my cute heel sandals! :(
I have a feeling these boys are going to always be keeping me on the edge of my seat! It is hard to relax when they are awake. They are crazy, but fun. They have a ton of energy but I wouldn't have it any other way. Now to just channel that energy into something good…..
The lamp minus the glass shade thing that was on top. That thing is heavy!
It remained bruised for a few weeks.

Random Things

Love this boy!
Ella at her hip hop class. She is doing really well! Her dance teacher keeps saying he wants her on his hip hop competition team. We will see about that. Maybe next year :) Sept 23rd
Kaiya and Ana wanted to do something for Chris (their teacher/someone they like to stalk) for his birthday so Kaiya made a banner for him. Ana brought him balloons. The banner turned out really cute.
I took Kaiya to go watch a dance movie at the theater a few months ago with some of her dance friends. Sept 28th
This is what happens every time Kaiya leaves her bedroom door open. The boys go in there and get into everything. They love the trumpet. I think I have finally convinced Kaiya to make sure and hide it somewhere so that it doesn't get ruined. Cannon had opened up the case, walked it downstairs and tried to play it all by himself. He is a stinker!
Ella is a sweetheart. I love the nice things she does for people. I was lucky and received a nice note on my bed one night.
Teaching Jett how to do a thumbs up
Jett wasn't too sure about a big beetle walking along the road. Oct 3rd
But he did take a picture with him

Rainbow Dancing

Doing the rainbow dance on Meema and Papa's new deck!

Gator Fest

The kids performed at Gator Fest in September (or August?). It was at the local community college. Love all these fun opportunities.
They had some little kids who were enjoying watching right up front and center
My mom and her exchange student from China came to watch
