Ava's Christmas Visit

It was nice to hang out with Ava a couple days after Christmas until she had to go home. We had a really good visit...probably the best that we have had! It was her first time flying home by herself. She was nervous but did great! It will be nice to have her come by herself from now on so it's not a visit to us mixed with a visit with her Grandma.

Minivan Express

We gave the kids some Round trip Golden Tickets for a 'Minivan Express'. I had seen this on Pinterest and knew the kids would love it. We told the kids to get their pajamas on and we gave them each their tickets. They didn't know where we were going. Cirdan and I popped them some popcorn and loaded them up in the car. We had to stop at my parents house to pick up Kaiya and then we stopped at Starbucks for some hot chocolate.

We had Christmas music playing, drank our warm drinks and ended up in a couple neighborhoods. Our favorite was Lake Wilderness Country Club. Almost every house was decorated.

I am sure this will be a Christmas tradition!

This house was insane! So many lights! There was music playing to the flashing lights. I am sure the neighbors loved them. Ha ha

We were sitting across the street not yet directly in front of the house. Kaiya noticed words on the house and asked...."what does La He Santa mean?" (says Land here Santa) We had a good laugh. She is always good for some 'blonde moments'.

My 1st Solo - Kaiya's School Paper

Here is a paper that Kaiya wrote this year. She likes to write....and read. She scored pretty high on this paper with almost all 4's.

Thunderstruck

Thunderstruck - or as we call it in the Imbler home...Thundersuck. The scoring is usually really strange and there isn't much competition there. This year was a little different though. There was a lot of dance studios there that I hadn't heard of. It actually went really well and the studio scored really highly! Kaiya's dances almost all scored Lightning Gold (the best)!

This was also a long weekend. Saturday was nice and we didn't have to be there until 2:00pm. We got home around 9:00pm (we went to dinner with some of the other kids on the team). Sunday had to be there when the doors opened...which was 6:40am. Hair and makeup already done. I got up at 5:00am!! It was insane. Awards wasn't until 9:00pm and we didn't get home until 10:45pm. It was a long but very fun day. As soon as we walked through the door Kaiya threw up. I think I was all the nerves mixed with all the sugar she had ate. Cirdan and Cannon came and watched Kaiya's duo and trio.
I am so thankful Cirdan supports Kaiya and I in these competition weekends. They are long and he is very patient and helps with the kids while I am gone. When it is long days he has to bring Cannon to me so I can feed him. These are memories in the making!

Starpower

The first competition of the season went well! Here is how Kaiya's dances scored. It's a scoring system 3 - 5 stars.

Saturday was a really long day. We had to get there at 8:00am but awards didn't get over until midnight. Sunday we got to sleep in a little (as much as I could with a 7 month old) and had to be there at noon. We got home around 8:00pm. If Kaiya didn't love to dance so much, I wouldn't be doing this. The joy in her face is priceless.
