Little Brother :)
The kids wanted a fun way to find out whether they were going to be getting a brother or sister. We went to Target a few days before and picked out 2 small outfits. One for a baby girl and one for a baby boy. I took both of the outfits with me to the ultrasound and once I got home, before I went into the house I put the boy outfit in a bag. They were anxiously waiting my arrival. Kaiya was sure it was a girl and Ella knew it was a boy.

My Cleaning Buddy
So Many New Teeth
This kid has been in pain. He has had about 9 teeth coming in, all at the same time! I tried to get a picture of some of them but he was not going for it. I feel so bad watching him be so uncomfortable and in pain. Pretty soon my little guy will look like a big boy with his mouth full of toothers!

Valentine's Day Fun
Ella helped me make cake pops for her preschool class. She was extremely excited that she could get Valentines Day cards and fill them out like a big girl. She of course picked Toy Story.

Kaiya had a party in her class at school so we made some heart sugar cookies for her to take. We had a lot left over so we decided to make treat plates for our friends and family. I ended up making some pretzel rods dipped in chocolate also.

Ella's 1st Valentine's mailbox. It was filled with candy and cards from her preschool friends.
The girls were taking a plate of our treats to the neighbors next door that are in our ward.
Superbowl
Superbowl Sunday we hung out at home and made some delicious food. The food was really centered around what I had been craving. I had been thinking about artichoke dip so I made that. It was a recipe from a lady that I used to work with about 10 years ago at Corporate Express. She would make it for our potlucks. I loved it! When we moved I ran across the recipe so I had to make it. My mom mentioned that bacon was on sale at her store which made my pregnant mind think....shrimp wrapped with bacon! A treat I haven't had forever. Lastly, brownies!! I wanted warm brownies with ice cream. YUM! I hardly ever actually get the fattening sweet stuff that I crave and try my hardest to just ignore it but since it was the Superbowl, why not?! Ha ha
Cirdan of course helped me put the food together. He is a great cook and a lot more confident in the kitchen than me.
It's funny because I can't even remember the super bowl or who even played but I remember the food!

Parties...Holidays....and FUN!
I am looking at my calendar for the next couple months and we will be busy!! It's going to be hard to find a weekend that we can just relax. Some of the fun things coming up...
-This weekend Kaiya in competing in the Spotlight competition...which means Saturday is a full day of dance
-Next weekend Kaiya is in the IDC Competition which is 2 days of full dance
-Kaylee comes to town the next week and Amy and I are throwing her a bridal shower. We invited family and people from the ward. Lots to do!!
-My mom and I are throwing my 2 cousins a baby shower the next weekend.
- The last weekend in March, Cirdan and I are trying to go out of town with our friends Greg and Staci. One last getaway...just the 2 of us...before the baby is born.
-Ava comes to town the next weekend. It's also Ella's birthday party and Easter! It's going to be a fun, busy weekend!
-Kids have spring break that next week and Ava will be here the whole time. That next weekend we have nothing on the calendar. SHOCKING!
-The end of April we are driving to Kaylee's wedding in Utah. We will be there for about a week.
-My mom and I are planning a reception for her up here in Washington on May 12th.
-I also need to plan Kaiya's birthday party (May 3rd) and on May 5th is another dance competition.

It's That Time Again!
Dance Competitions 2012 have started! The first one was in February, which was Starpower. It was a very long day. Kaiya is in 7 dances and the way that the schedule usually pans out I have to run backstage to switch Kaiya's hair after each dance. She has all different costume changes but her hair is also different for just about every dance.

poof
and just side pony
Kaiya did really well in all of her dances. Her solo was absolutely fabulous! I was so proud of her! She ended up getting 4 3/4 starts (out of 5) and placed 9th overall in her age group. She went against some really good dancers in her age division, some dancing lyrical, jazz, hip hop and tap. Hip hop usually doesn't score very well so it just shows how well she did!

Chris a fellow ADA dancer and choreographer/teacher was called on stage and did a little freestyle dance.

Jett thinks he's a Big Boy
Jett has loved our new living arrangements and the door handles. He quickly realized that he is big enough to open the doors. The good news? He only opens the front door and the bathroom upstairs. The bad news? He opens the front door and the bathroom upstairs.
We have to keep the front door locked at all times. I don't think he would ever go outside without one of us, but I am not about to take the chance.
I have found him many, MANY times playing in the toilet upstairs. We say he is like a puppy because he loves the toilet and to get into the garbage can.
The other day I found him with a makeup brush dipping it into the toilet and sucking the water from the brush. SO GROSS! Good thing the toilet had been flushed...but still I want to throw up just thinking about it.

I opened it! Now what do I do?

Mock Competition
In January we had a big snow storm. That following Saturday was ADA's Mock Competition. Usually the kids have their costumes by then and they are able to practice with their costumes for the first time. However, with the storm the costumes weren't completed in time so they had to just wear their Xtreme wear. I love Mock Competition. It's the 1st time you get to see all the dances that the kids have worked on for the previous 4-5 months. Everyone looked awesome and we were all pumped for the 1st competition the beginning of February.
