Day 8 - Going Home

While we were packing up our suitcases Kaiya was watching Jett for us. She laid with him and he fell asleep. A rare sweet moment.

The Disneyland hotel was nice. The price is insanely expensive (we got a break for being part of the Starpower Competition). I would not have stayed there if we didn't get a price break. It was fun to see all the Mickey things that they incorporated into the hotel. The shampoo, conditioner and lotion bottles. The lights, handles and even the tiles in the shower had the Mickey silhouette.

Above the bed was the coolest. The lights and the music just made you happy even looking at them.

Looking out of our window. It faced out to Downtown Disney even though we couldn't see it because of the plants and trees.

Our hotel.

The beginning of Downtown. This was about 15 steps out of our hotel.

Inside the hotel...right when you walk in.

Outside the hotel

We took a picture with Mickey right outside the hotel

On our way to the hotel we stopped and got a bite to eat at In N Out Burger. I am not a fan of their fries but the burger was great! Makes me hungry just looking at this picture.

Ella was sad and didn't want to leave.

On the plane Kaiya sat next to Tatum again.

And we are back in Washington.

Disneyland - Day 7

This was our last full day at Disneyland/Adventure and California. Kaiya and Cirdan really wanted to start the day off with a good ol' ride on the scary roller coaster (normal folks call it California Screamin). They were one of the first groups on the ride.

After the ride we stood there for about an hour or two waiting for my mom to come help us with the kids. While we waited we got lucky! Jesse from Toy Story came walking our way. Ella absolutely loves Jessie. She was thrilled!

Jessie took a break and a little while later Woody came out!

We ran into our friends and chatted with them for a little bit.

Kaiya had been wanting to play the carnival games and I thought it was silly to pay more money for tokens to to play games since we had already paid so much money to be at Disneyland but Cirdan loves games and I waste all kinds of money....so what is a few bucks for some games at the happiest place on earth. There was 2 people sitting at this game already so Cirdan, Kaiya, Ella and I joined them. The winner would get a Bullseye toy (horse from Toy Story). The winner happened to be none other than...ME!! I was a nice mom and let Ella have the toy. :) btw Kaiya, Ella and Cirdan all planned to let Mom....she's a sore loser and we didn't want a grumpy Heidi around the rest of the day.

My mom never showed up and we were getting hungry so we headed to the little section of California Adventure that had some different food restaurants. Cirdan went and got us some teriyaki. Of course it was on a Mickey plate. Kaiya's fortune said "think practical" and stop dreaming or something. It was completely ironic for Disneyland.

We walked around some more and stopped at a cute little section of the Bugs Life park that has water for the kids to play in. Ella got soaked but it was so hot that she dried super fast and never even complained about being wet.

Even Jett got to play in the water.

Jett liked sucking the water off the tray on his stroller. Sometimes he would have ice on it too. We made sure to keep the kids hydrated.

I thought this faucet was so cool. Made me really feel like a little bug.

Ella spiking up Jett's hair while Kaiya and Heidi were on Soarin over California.

The last ride that we went on was Soaring Over California. Kaiya and I went on first and then went to watch Ella and Jett while Cirdan went on it. This ride is one of my favorites. Actually, what I should say is one of the only ones I will go on. I am a wimp. There are so many rides at Disneyland that are underground and it seems like you have to walk down into the earth forever. The whole time I am thinking, "what if there was an earthquake right now?" I wish I liked the rides but just makes me way too nervous!

On our way out we took some pictures.

We decided to walk back through Disneyland for one last time. Cirdan went on the new Star Wars ride while we waited for him. Everyone was talking about it being a cool ride and the lines were insanely long if you didn't have a fast pass. Cirdan didn't think it was worth the 2 hour wait. (he waited about 10 minutes to get on with his fastpass)

Right when he got out of the ride the fireworks started to go off. It was quite a show! Right above our heads! The fireworks were incredible and it was crazy to think that they do that every single night. That's a lot of fireworks!

While people were watching fireworks there was no line for the teacups so Kaiya, Ella and I decided to take one last ride. It was fun at night!

Walking back to our hotel through Downtown Disney.

Goodbye Disneyland and California Adventure! We will probably see you again in a couple more years!
