Ava's August Visit

Ava was here to visit us for a week in August. We did some fun stuff during the week. Richard and Sue (Cirdan's dad and step mom) were able to come visit on Saturday until Sunday. We enjoyed having them around. Here are some of the things we did while Ava was here...

Crafts - Sue and Richard brought the girls these adorable totes with crafts inside. The girls had fun making things with their pipe cleaners and coloring with their new supplies.

They even dressed up the dog....(we were also dog sitting for my parents while they were in Utah)

Pipe cleaner jewelry...

We made and decorated cupcakes...

Grandma read books....

They made up dances and cheers and then performed them for us.

We went to the park in our neighborhood with Sue and Richard before they left...

The girls enjoyed playing restaurant. Ella was the customer in this picture...

Grandpa swinging!

They played outside on the trampoline...

Kaiya went to her dad's house one day so Ella and Ava had fun hanging out...

They enjoyed playing dress up and having lunch outside. Ava likes to wear Kaiya's clothes and shoes when she is here.

We went to Chuck E Cheese...always a favorite for all the girls.

We went to Ihop for breakfast for dinner...

Sisters!

Kaiya set up a pencil selling shop and sold pencils to the girls....

We went to Discovery Park in Auburn. That was our first time there and was impressed by this new park!

They rolled down hills...

Even Cirdan climbed the wall to help Ella...

Other than that we hung out at home, Cirdan took the girls to Despicable Me (movie), we went shopping a couple times and had Brodi, Steph and their family over for dinner.
Ava was able to stay over 4 nights. We won't see her again until Christmas, which seems like a long time but I am sure it will be here before we know it.

More furniture assembly!

I took these couple pictures of Cirdan working on some of the furniture. He spent many hours putting together our new furniture. Below is a picture of a TV stand he put together for the girls' playroom.
Greg came over one night and even got suckered into helping.

Thanks Cirdan!!

Greg helped him put together Baby Boy's new dresser.

The girls new room

This is what we were up to the first couple weeks of August-

We have (and by we I mean Cirdan) assembled... 2 beds, 3 dressers, 2 nightstands, a desk, TV hutch, 2 chairs and a crib. (not to mention all the time it took finding the perfect stuff to buy)

I painted 2 walls in the girls room (with a little bit of help) and a few frames and mirrors to match their new walls/bedding. We also applied vinyl stickers to the walls (flowers and butterflies). The office is now the girls room so everything was moved to other places. The girls got new bedding and their room decorated super girly. We made Kaiya's old bedroom into the playroom so everything has been rearranged. Ella's old room will be the baby room.

Next on my list? The baby room!! We found some baby bedding last week, I am excited to start that project soon! The clock is ticking and baby boy will be here in no time.

I didn't want to nest nearly as much in previous pregnancies. Everyday I just want to clean, organize and get ready to bring my new munchkin home.

Gaga Meelk and Popacorn

Ella has the type of personality where she gets "stuck" on an item and OCD's about it. She's 2, we'll see if this trait sticks as she gets older. The last couple months it has been chocolate milk and popcorn. She went through a stage where she had to have popcorn every night before she went to bed. It has calmed down a bit and she asks for it about every other day. She does however wake up and almost every morning the first thing that comes out of her mouth is..."chocolate milk. I need chocolate milk." We joke around that its her coffee fix but its super annoying to hear it the first thing in the morning. First you laugh because she is pretty funny, then her persistence kicks in high gear. Who has the will to put up with a fit very first thing in the morning? Long story short, she always gets her morning chocolate milk.

*I bought some chocolate protein mix at Costco and have been using that the last month. I also dont even put a spoonful of it in and she doesnt even know the difference. It's milk more than anything...but she can't tell.

A nice little note

We stopped at Cirdan's office last Friday and Kaiya ran in to get him. While she was waiting she wrote him a note on post it's and stapled them together for him to find the next time he went to work.
He brought home the note to show me and I thought it was super sweet...

Splashing the day away!

The girls and I broke away from putting together their new room (details to come) to go to Lake Wilderness with our friends. It was a super hot day and this summer we haven't had enough nice weather. I am so glad we took advantage of it. Kaiya enjoyed playing with her friend Kailey and jumping off the dock. Ella had no fear of the water and wanted to be out with Kaiya and the kids no matter how deep the water was. She went under a couple times which freaked me out but she didn't seem to mind at all.

Swim lessons videos

Here are some videos I took of Kaiya while she was in swim lessons. Shes a natural!
