Seahawks Camp 2010

This year I was able to make it to 6 Seahawks practices. Heidi came out for 2 practices. Kaiya came with me to 3. The practice facility is fantastic. Hanging out on Lake Washington in beautiful summer weather watching the Hawks is a hard job. Someone has to do it....kakaka GO SEAHAWKS!!!

Aaron Curry and Leroy Hill getting it done at the last day of open practice at Seahawks Training Camp.

Josh Wilson

Heidi and I took Hailey and Brett with us to a practice. Hailey looks way to giddy for second string offensive lineman. 2o bucks says she has no idea what his name is.

I hate to summer coming to an end but football season is the second best season.

Hopefully Trufant is 100% this year.....he looks to be healthy at camp.

Saturday practice with the Marshall's. The weather wasn't that great but we all had a good time.

Ella was sitting on the fence saying "sign my jersey Kelly" to Kelly Jennings. She had a bunch of people cracking up. Ella had them laughing again because she was singing to Usher.

Riding the bus! I'm glad I never rode the bus everyday as a kid. Ella enjoyed it.

Kids getting an autograph from Brandon Mebane.

Jordan Babineaux (a safety for the Seahawks) took off his glove and signed it after practice. There was a big crowd up against the fence cheering to get the glove. I have no idea how he spotted little Kaiya. We were a couple rows back and Kai is small......but he saw her and hooked her up. It was a fun little experience for her.

This will be a tradition every year for the fam...

One of the practices I took Kaiya to there was a crew from Great Clips spraying hair Seahawks colors. I told Kai she should get it done when we arrive at practice. She said no way. It took about 15 minutes and she asked me if she could. Atta girl!

Take me out to the ball game...

Heidi and I went to the M's game with Brett and Hailey (some friends from church). The seats were great, 30 rows behind home plate.

The game actually looked promising the first few innings. The M's awful offense managed to score 5 runs through 4 innings....things were looking pretty good.
Where we sat there were a lot of fly balls. At one point Heidi reached down to put something in her camera case and a ball flew directly at her seat. She sat up just in time to see the guy behind her catch the ball. I reached over her but since she is pregnant I couldn't push her out of the way. It was classic. The picture below was taken right after he caught the ball...he was calling people telling them.

Good times

Work never stops...even when you are at a Mariners game.

I wonder if the little guy (in the oven) liked the sounds of the baseball game. I'm betting he did :)

Brett and Hailey

Your birthday is a celebration of you

Craig and Val had a Birthday BBQ/party at their place for Stacey and Emma. They made it a send off for Kaylee going to the U of Utah as well. Heidi made a sign for all the kids to color.

Emma loved the ice cream cake. She was laughing and getting at her cake as you can see.
Happy Birthday Stacey!! Happy 1st Birthday Emma!!

Covington Days Parade

Ella, Cirdan and I went to the Covington days parade (Kaiya was in Oregon with her dad). We also met up with my mom and some neighbor friends of ours. Ella got so much candy handed out to her you would have thought it was Halloween. My dad was also in the parade walking for Nancy Wyatt. The parade was fun and lasted a lot longer than I expected.
Watch out...next year Puget Sound Moving will be in the parade! Woo Hoo

Little Fishy's

Kaiya started swim lessons the week after school got out. Each session is 2 weeks long and its every weekday morning . I only intended to put her in 1 or 2 sessions but she is doing so well and loves it. We are on our 3rd session of the summer. She is really competitive so its fun to watch her race (and by race I mean watch them try and catch her. LOL) against the other kids in the class. One of the parents even mentioned how his daughter comes home from class and is excited when she can keep up with Kaiya. They have been spending the majority of the time in the deep end doing laps (I got these names from Kaiya so I'm not sure if they are correct - front glides, back glide, crawl stroke, back strokes).

Last session I signed Ella and Cirdan up for a parent/tot class. Ella loves the water so I thought she would enjoy it but not so much. Towards the end of the 2nd week she finally started to kick her legs around and would let Cirdan move around the pool with her. I think we will wait a few more years until we sign her up again. It was also at 8:30 in the morning and she was still tired and crabby most mornings.

Ms. Ella is growing up fast!

Ella has become quite the big girl lately. Its bittersweet for me to see her grow up. We got rid of the binky about 3 weeks ago which at first was a struggle but now she only asks about it 2 or 3 parts a week. She hasn't been sleeping well and naps don't happen consistently like they did when she had her binky but I am glad to get rid of that hurdle!
She is also has been potty training and been doing a fantastic job! It just clicked one day. She loves to wear her Elmo and princess panties. As soon as she has to go potty she yells..."pee pee!!" and whoever is around her she makes go with her to cheer her on. We took our first trip in the car with no diaper and she didn't have an accident. At home she hasn't had an accident either! I am so proud of her!

Kaiya's Dance Recital

Kaiya had her dance recital in June. I was very excited to see the development that she had made over the year. She was in 2 different routines. The first was her tap/ballet class and they danced to a Little Mermaid song. Her other dance was hip hop and it was a High School Musical theme. Kaiya did a wonderful job! She practices here routine and you can tell...she is the kid in the class who leads the others.
This Saturday is tryouts for the Xtreme team. She was nominated by one of her teachers at the end of the year. Its will be a lot of work and she will be dancing about 4 days a week but she wants to do it. I am kind of nervous knowing how busy she will be since she is also in piano and she has activity days (church) every other Wednesday. Kaiya has the drive to do it and her dad helps a lot taking her to her classes so lets hope it won't be too much! Go Kaiya!!!!

Ms. Ray (her 2nd grade teacher) came to cheer her on.
