We need the biggest pumpkin!

Yesterday turned out to be a nice sunny day so we decided it would be a perfect day to make the muddy trek to the pumpkin patch. Galade and her boys went with us. Cirdan walked us out to a far patch where the "untouched" pumpkins were. Took a while but we finally found the perfect pumpkins.

For the record...I am NOT cleaning out that big pumpkin. :)

I didnt realize that that gross pumpkin was right there! ha ha

When we were all done we HAD to get a $2.50 corn on the cob and a bag of $5.00 kettle corn. Delish!

Go Hawks

My cousin Lisa and her husband has season tickets to the Seahawks games. Last weekend Mark (her husband) went hunting which means we got the chance to go to a game! They have awesome tickets and we sat 5 rows up from the field. Everything was so close! They ended up losing but we had still had a blast!

My baby is crawling!

Ella has been getting up on her knees for a while.

Then she moves back and forth, drops to her belly and scoots around the floor.

Last night Cirdan put her down and she started crawling! I was so shocked! Even though I knew this day would come sooner rather than later I am still sad to see her grow up so fast. Not to mention the fact that she is into EVERYTHING. I walked out of the room for no more than a minute today and when I got back she was already across the room, had gotten into the candy basket (which has a lid) and was holding onto a big gummy candy turtle! My eyes have to be on her every second. Time to baby proof the house! I guess what they say is true - if your 1st is an angel the next will be wild!!

Another new cousin!

Kaiya and Ella have a new cousin!
Galade had a baby boy on Sept 22nd. They now live VERY close to us so we have been able to see the little guy a few times. He is adorable!

Family weekend!

Cirdan's parents came over to Seattle this past weekend to meet Galade's (Cirdan's sister) new little baby boy. They got here on Saturday morning and we all ate breakfast (for lunch). They make the BEST stuffed french toast. We then we hung out and visited for a few hours. The men went off to the Priesthood meeting and the women went out and did what they do best...SHOP.

Kaiya and the boys had fun finding a slug family. Ick.

Sunday morning we woke up, visited for a while and then they got on the road to make their long drive home.

We all love having Richard and Sue visit and can't wait to see them again in a few weeks!!

Puyallup Fair - a couple weeks ago :)

We wanted to go to the fair but with our busy schedule the only day we could go happened to be the day it rained. We got there right as it opened, got a perfect parking spot and stayed about 4 hours.

We started with the animals...

cows

Sheep
More cows

As soon as we left I realized we didnt see the pigs! BUMMER.

The food is always yummy.

Cirdan and Kaiya had fun playing games...
This is Cirdan's favorite game. We usually have to stand here for at least an hour so he can win enough little stuffed animals to trade in for a jumbo. He wins almost every time!

On the way out we HAD to stop by and get some good fresh ice cream...even if it was cold and rainy outside.

Silly

Kaiya has such an imagination. She had made some paper dolls at school and when she got home they had to go everywhere with her. I went to tuck her into bed and this is what I found....

In the morning I went into her room and the little paper boy was on her little couch in her room and the girl was in the baby cradle on her floor. Both had blankets on them. She told me that she didnt want them to fall out of the bed so she moved them.

When the boys are away, the girls play

Steph and I decided since the boys were going to have a blast in NYC we would do something fun in the good ol' State of WA. That basically means a night out with NO kids or husbands.

We first went to this fabulous Japanese restaurant. Steph made me try Sushi and it was pretty delicious!

After dinner we went to the new Westfield mall and closed the mall down.

What kind of night would it be without Coldstone? We stopped got some ice cream and headed home.

Doesn't compare to NYC but it was still fun!!!

NYC - written by Cirdan

WHO'S DOWN TO FLY TO NYC ON SEP. 11th????...this guy is!...ha lol...Brodie (Heidi's cousin's husband) and I got in to manhattan about 6 am sep 12. we stayed in a prime spot....3 blocks from central park, 2 blocks from times square...it was ideal.

Friday morning-we dropped off our bags and hit the block....went around the corner and checked out NBC studios...it was pretty cool....we wanted to see SNL but didnt have time to wait in line for 2 days (would have taken up the entire trip) we chatted with a handful of people that were waiting for tix to SNL....they started camping out thursday night!

grabbed breakfast and went to the Today show...I was about 10 ft away from Al Roker...I was filming on my camera while they were on air

next we hit grand central station...grand is appropriate...that joint is huge...its nice.... i didnt expect it to be so fancy....but there is a different world just down stairs....hot. stankin, sweaty subway...but its definitely the way to around NY

we took the subway to the Financial District, checked out the NYSE and the area...lots of super huge buildings.....and really cool old historical bldgs.....

Ground Zero. World Trade Center

One of the most humbling experiences of my life....it is hard to describe the atmosphere there.....the people that are around you....they feel like family....i felt like when i was there i shouldnt speak....just be quiet....take it in....and remember the tragedy that fell on NY and our country that day....

I was glad i got the opportunity to be there...to see the pictures of the individuals who gave their lives that day trying to help save others..

Battery Park

We checked out battery park. there is a memorial there as well, a sculpture from pieces of the two towers. you can see the statue of liberty from battery park. the ferry runs to and from the statue of liberty there daily..me and brodie got ripped off by one of those artists that draw a pic of you....you know i had to get ripped off once right?? wouldnt be NY without it

GO YANKEES!!

we jumped on the subway and headed back to our hotel..midtown....changed our clothes and headed for the Bronx baby!!!! YANKEE STADIUM......pretty much the entire motivation to go to NY was to see a game in yankee stadium before it gets torn down...it was raining pretty good...we made it to the stadium and man!! what a cool place....no other ballpark like it.....we went out to monument park and took a bunch of pics....checked out all the old yankee greats....mantle, dimaggio, ruth, jackson, and everyone....we waited for about an hour or so and the game got called...rescheduled for Saturday...2nd game of a double header.....so we headed back to mid town to get ready for the comedy show.

Saturday -

we woke up and went to Central Park...we had no idea Central Park was like 843 acres so we rented some bikes (no, not a tandem) and checked out the park for a few hours. We walked around town and did some shopping then headed to Queens to Shea Stadium to see if we could get some tix for the game. Johan Santana was pitching that day and Shea stadium was rockin....we left in the 8th inning and took the subway back to our hotel and then headed up to the Bronx for the Yankee game...it was a nice come back win...

Sunday -

we checked out times square...went to china town...flew home

we put a lot of miles on our shoes...lots of miles in the subway and had a packed crazy weekend.

Good times in NYC

Ready...Set...Go!!

Ella started scooting for a few weeks now and I finally got it on camera. Everyday she gets faster and faster. Is this the beginning of the end?

I had to also include these pictures of Ella eating peas. She stuffs her hand in her mouth after every bite. Makes for a messy meal.
